I’ve got to admit, I’m a bit of a Call of Duty junkie.
I love jumping online with 15 other players, and shooting each other in the face until we’re all yelling at the TV.
And yes, I’ll also admit that I’m one of those guys that yells at the TV when they’re playing.
But how can shooting terrorists that are trying to disrupt our way of life possibly help you with your business to business lead generation?
There are at least three ways.
1. Always grab the biggest gun.
When it comes to business to business lead generation, you always want the biggest gun. After all, if one player has a pistol, and the other has a 300-rounds a second machine gun, who do you think will come out the winner?
But in our case, what is the biggest gun?
You want to find the gun that’s going to give you more leads than your competitors. After all, if you’ve got 300 good leads you can call and make the sale with 50% of the time, you’re a king compared to Joe Schmoe down the street who only has 10.
It’s not so much a quality or quantity thing, it’s quality AND quantity.
This is where sales lead software comes in.
By automating your lead finding, you’re not going to be spending multiple hours every week flipping through the phone book and searching out companies online.
2. Don’t backstab your clients.
The quickest way to see a drop in client acquisition is to start talking bad about other clients with your new ones. I’ve seen more than one colleague go down this path. I realize that as a sales person, it’s easy to start shooting the shit with your clients… but be careful that you’re not talking bad about past clients.
Think about it this way…
If you go into a store and start talking with the staff and they start talking about all the stupid people that come in all day, aren’t you going to think, “Uh, I’m one of those people too…”.
I think you can see where I’m going with this…
3. Recharge the controller’s batteries
This goes against all logic, but bare with me…
Chill out.
Stop spending so much time stressing over how many leads are coming in this month. It’s well known that the more you worry about something (not having leads) the more likely it is to happen. You can get into all sorts of thought lines from there, but as a student of how the mind works, you can see it all over.
The mind will do it’s absolute best to make something happen for you if you consider it important. It will influence your every move and make sure that you get what’s coming to you.
So stop worrying so much about not having leads. They’re coming, you just need to relax and let them come to you.
